We've come here over the years, and this time it did feel as if the quality of food improved. Starting with the canchita (deep fried corn kernels) you get before you order, the texture of the food does seem noticeably better than before. They were super crispy, whereas in the past a few of the kernels were break-your-teeth hard. We ordered the triple appetizer of ceviche, jalea (fried seafood) and papa a la huancaina (potatoes with boiled egg in a creamy yellow sauce). Flavors and textures were great, and my only complaint was that fish in the ceviche was quite chewy. I had the Desayuno Peruano (Peruvian breakfast) which turned out to be a lot bigger than it looked on the laminated card of specials. It was the size of 3 meals, so the $35 price was about right. It was lomo saltado, fresh pickled onions, a Peruvian tamale (choice of pork or chicken), chicharones and roasted sweet potato slices, all on a huge dish with multiple compartments. Portion sizes are generous so keep this in mind when ordering because you can easily end up with too much food and a larger than necessary bill. At the end of the day it's food made with care, friendly service and still good value for NYC. Good job to the management for the food upgrade!

Great Peruvian food! I love the green sauce it's full of layers of flavor, and just the right amount of spice. The chicken is super savory on the outside with that delicious thin skin. It goes perfectly with the green sauce. 9/10 Ceviche mixto is a lot of fish along with some shrimp and other seafood, vegetables for a filling dish. 8/10 Parihuela is a packed seafood soup served HOT with a light spicy broth and tons of flavor. The fish is soft and juicy. The shrimp is fully cooked. 8/10 Fried wontons are super fried with a thick shell. It's kinda like a hard shell taco. 7/10 Anticuchos are decent. There's a good amount of meat and the texture is good. 7/10

Everything is good! I recommend I went to maca, and I was surprised that their seafood is amazing, a small cute restaurant, with amazing servers!

The service here is decent. The food is amazing. The ambiance is full of energy. I love their food and the price sounds fair. Pío Pío next door is way too pricey. If you want authentic Peruvian food stop by here. The restaurant it's specious and accommodating.

Food was AMAZING. One of the best Peruvian restaurants I've ever been to. Beautiful place and great service. I will definitely be coming back

This place is an excellent local restaurant. Portions are great. Broad menu. Consistently seasoned well. This is my go-to restaurant for Peruvian cuisine. I usually order the bistec a lo pobre (not pictured below) and it's always delicious and cooked to perfection. Service is prompt and accommodating. The restaurant feels festive usually having decorated near holidays. The menu is reasonably priced given the portions and flavors served. I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Our go to Peruvian spot! The staff is always helpful in recommending items since we're new to Peruvian food. The ceviche is awesome but make sure to ask for spicy. The place is always clean and playing enjoyable music.

Just happened upon this place on our way to the airport. We had the pollo saltado and it was delicious. The marinade was flavorful, the portion was just right. Glad we found this little gem.

A great place to enjoy delicious and flavorful Peruvian cuisine any time of the year. Be sure to start with a Peruvian beer like the Pilser Callao or a refreshing non alcoholic beverage like the Chicha Morada, which although chilled is great for a warm or cold day. We had the Chaufa de Pollo (Peruvian chicken fried rice) and the Caldo de Gallina (Peruvian chicken soup) and it's an understatement to say that the restaurant has made these two staples their own with the way the dishes fill you up both physically and mentally. This stuff is seriously good for the soul. Growing up in an Ecuadorian family, we always had a hearty bowl of chicken soup ready at a moment's notice in case relatives or friends stopped by. This restaurant's version takes me back to big family dinners and loudly slurping the broth as a kid until my mom told me to stop. Long story short - it really hit the spot. Next time you find yourself around the Woodhaven/Rego Park area, stop on by for a meal made with love.

I went here with a friend recently and we were more than satisfied. The place is spacious, clean and the food was great too. Their portion sizes are generous with reasonable prices. We tried the arroz chaufa, a few empanadas, and the bistec a lo pobre. Everything was well seasoned, flavorful, and very filling. The steak in particular was cooked very well. The waitress who served us was very friendly too and kept coming by to check up on us. If you are looking for a very good and authentic Peruvian restaurant, this is the place.
